Wild Whisper - All is Calm

Hi everyone,

I pulled out my Wild Whisper Christmas stamps... Christmas Comfort, Woodsy, Home for the Holidays... and combined them on a pretty, sparkly card today.

I used them to create a scene within this pretty Christmas Snowflake Bauble stencil from Sweet Poppy Stencils, which was sponged with Hickory Smoke and Tumbled Glass distress oxide inks.

I then took a piece of paper from an old collection called "Small Patterns", and to sparkle it up and make it Christmassy, I embossed the edges with Ranger's Silver Tinsel embossing powder, and trimmed it with a sparkly silver ribbon.

Above, you can see how I also embossed the edges of my stamped image with the same silver tinsel embossing powder.  To make it sparkle even more, I added CTMH clear gems here and there.

The finishing touch is a beautiful bow.

The inside is stamped with the sentiment from Christmas Comfort and trimmed with silver CTMH Shimmer Trim.

I hope this has inspired you to pull out your stamps and paper and create some Christmas magic!

Happy Creating!
Linda

Wild Whisper - Magical Moment

Hi everyone!

I have a different style of card to share with you today.  It has been inked up with lots of Distress Oxides and I used several different Wild Whisper stamps to create the scene.  Stamp sets used are:  Adventure, Home for the Holidays, Christmas Comfort, and World's Best.

I started out with a piece of cardstock 2-3/4" x 7-3/4" and did the technique I'm sure most are familiar with, squishing Distress Oxide ink pads onto my mat, spraying the ink with water and blotting and drying the cardstock over and over until I was happy with how it looked.  The colours I used were Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, and Blueprint Sketch.

I used SazOn Pigment Ink to stamp the bear, mountains, and antlers, and this was a mistake. This ink isn't designed for paper (as I found out afterwards) and you can see it didn't do a good job of stamping.

For this type of card you want a deep black image, so in future I would use an ink like Black VersaFine.  I didn't want to throw my card away though, so in the end I coloured over the images with a sharpie marker, and that saved the day!

To stamp the various branches and snowflakes around the edge of the card, I used Dusty Concord Distress Archival Ink.

To give a little shadow at the base of the mountain, I used Iced Spruce.

To highlight the bear, I created a mask using my roll of tape that was handy on my desk.

Holding the mask over the bear, I sponged Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide, sweeping it from the mask outwards.

After masking, there is a lovely glow around the bear.

The card was matted with silver glitter paper and mirror card by Crafter's Companion - Morning Mist Pack.

Finishing touches were to add snowflakes cut from the same glitter paper, and a little bit of sparkle here and there with Fresh Snowfall Nuvo Glitter Accents.  I also stamped and heat embossed the title "Magical Moment".

I find slimline cards are fun to create scenes with.  Pull out your stamps and give it a try!

All is calm...

Merry Christmas everyone!
Christmas at our house was a little unsettling this year, so I set out to create a project that soothed my soul and brought a feeling of peace.
To create peace, I always turn to nature.  This beautiful sunset piece of paper is from Wild Whisper's Canadian Winter collection, and of course features our Rocky Mountains in the background.
I used another Wild Whisper collection by Pam Bray, called Nature's Bliss to cut out the reindeer (which is an SVG cut file by Just Nick).  I flipped it so that the antlers would cut out of the lighter parts and look like they were catching the last rays of the sun as it set.
All is calm, All is bright, was stamped using the Wild Whisper "Christmas Comfort" stamp set and Stone embossing powder.
"Rejoice" is also an SVG file from Silhouette, and I cut it out of the same piece of paper that I cut the deer from.  The stars are a stamp from Wild Whisper's older Christmas stamp set "Home for the Holidays".  I embossed them with a lovely, glittery, silver embossing powder.
The die cuts are graphics from a set call "Christmas Fields" that I purchased from The Hungry Jpeg and printed myself.  They have a wild feeling of joy to me and I thought they suited this beautiful wild background. I popped them up to give them a little more impact.

To create this project, I was inspired by the following two challenges at More Than Words and Art Daily Cafe.  It's pretty clean and simple, but that was what I was needing when I created it!

All is Calm, All is Bright

Hi there!

I'm back today with some more Christmas cards created with Wild Whisper Design's "Christmas Comfort" line.

First up is one I created with the two stamp sets that coordinate with the collection.

I trimmed the image with Tonic's beautiful Mirror Glossy cardstock that I am in love with this year, and added some decorative elements such as the mistletoe sprigs from the Ephemera pack, plus some bling from my stash.

A couple more ephemera pieces dress up the inside of the card.

With this card, I played with the three mistletoe stamps in the set and created a border with my Misti stamping tool.  I dressed up one of the cards from the Card Pack with more ephemera and bling.  To add some sparkle, I added glitter dots around the "All is Calm" card and to each of the mistletoe sprigs, using Nuvo Glitter Accents in "Winter Cranberry" and of course... more Mirror Glossy cardstock!

More ephemera for a quick, cute inside greeting.

                                                                                                                                                                  Head over to
that is on until the end of Monday for some real bargains!

The Christmas Comfort line is disappearing fast, however if you check
The Paper and Ink Boutique, you will find more there!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Finnish Star

Hi everyone,

Today I made the cutest Finnish Star ornament using pieces of Wild Whisper Design's "Christmas Comfort" line.

I found a great tutorial for the star here.

When using Wild Whisper's thick paper with the great coating, I found it was best to use a glue gun to hold everything together.

The cute little jeep is from the Christmas Comfort ephemera pack.

The fabulous red foil that I used on both the front and the back of the star is Tonic Studio's Ruby Mirror Glossy Cardstock.  The glitter stars can be found here.

Making this little ornament really put me in the Christmas mood.

Now, to put YOU in the Christmas mood, I have news to share...
Wild Whisper Designs is having a Black Friday Sale from Friday Nov 23, to Monday Nov 26th.

How great is that????  Mark your calendars and get ready for some discounts and mystery bags!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sparkle in the Shade with Power Poppy

Hi everyone,

Power Poppy inspired me this month with their Creative Confetti Challenge.

"Create with just one color in many different "shades" - then, add a little sparkle to the final creation!" Julie said…  so I did!!

My starting point was this pretty piece of paper from Wild Whisper Designs' Christmas Comfort line.

I pulled the colours from the blue side and used one of the digital images from

I love this set and can't wait to colour up the candy cane one as well!

To add some dimension to the berries, I coated them in Nuvo Glitter Accents "Snowfall" which made them beautifully sparkly.  It is such a pretty glitter glue and dries very quickly.

I can't believe it's already the end of the month.  I'm just getting my entry in on time!

Be sure and check out the challenges at Power Poppy.  They are a lot of fun!

Outside in the bushes, I'm starting to hear the rustle of spooks and ghouls...
they will soon be arriving!
Enjoy All Hallows Eve and thank you for stopping by.
