Mary Did You Know?

Hi everyone!

I was wanting to make a card for some special friends and looking for a starting point... over at Creative Carte Blanche, song lyrics are the theme for the monthly challenge.

This got me thinking about my favorite Christmas carol which is "Mary Did You Know?"... and that led me to design this card with the nativity as the focal point.

I'm still using Close to My Heart's paper "Oh Deer" but I've abandoned the sea glass colour I've  used on past cards, and focused on the golds and browns instead, with a hit of red glitter.  The musical notes on the paper continue the theme of the challenge.

All three Nativity dies that I used are from Penny Black:  Manger, Winter Garland, and Rejoice, and the interior label die is Merry Labels from Catherine Pooler's Candy Cane Lane collection this year.

If you haven't heard Pentatonix sing "Mary Did You Know?" you really must relax back in your chair and enjoy this YouTube video.

Wishing you peace and blessings this Christmas season!

Linda

  1. This is such a beautiful card with the reds and golds. And that son is also MY favorite song for Christmas! I've had in in my head for the last few days. And I just heard Pentatonix for the first time on their Christmas special! I had heard of them but never paid much attention.. thought just another weird name and probably weird music. Boy was I wrong! I absolutely LOVE them... boy are they ever talented. I've spent the last couple of nights looking at all of their YouTube videos. I can't seem to get enough of them. I don't "do" Close to My Heart anymore, but still enjoy many of the blogs out there showcasing their papers and products. and of course, I still have many in my stash that I've hoarded and won't use!

    1. Thank you for stopping in Marilyn. I had never heard of Pentatonix until last year when they were singing Mary Did You Know. I remember when you used to be on the CTMH bulletin boards. I don't go to them very much anymore... spend most of my time on Facebook. I like CTMH because it's quick and easy to get supplies for my classes... but I'm such a scrappy hoarder... my cupboards are full of stuff from all over!

Love!! Merry Christmas to you and your family and thank you for sharing this on Creative Carte Blanche!
