Mojo Monday card

So I've heard about Mojo Monday for a long time now, and decided to give it a try this week.  I needed a card for a Round Robin challenge I'm in at Swirlydoos, so Mojo Monday was my starting point.  They have cute, easy to follow sketches.  There is also a huge number of entrants and it is fascinating looking at all the cards and different interpretations of the sketch!

There were 3 twists we had to do for the Round Robin:
1.  Monochromatic in color
2.  Have an element that is embossed.
3.  Add a stickpin.

I embossed the back mat using a Harliquin embossing folder from Spellbinders and a butterscotch Gelato crayon.  You can see a tutorial here for the method I used.  In order to make the card monochromatic, I also used the Gelato to colour the burlap and tint the mat the image is stamped on.

Check out Mojo Monday and the Challenges at Swirlydoos - you might find one you'd like to try!

  1. Beautiful card Linda! I love the neutral shades - and that you did it all with one gelato is pure genious! Adorable stamped image and it looks fantastic uncoloured.

  2. Sweet card work, Is that a stamp? She is adorable
