Good morning everyone!
I needed a relatively quick shower gift yesterday so I turned to the Baby Cakes Picture Your Life set by Close to my Heart to make a mini album. I was quite happy with how it turned out, so thought I would share it with my Close to my Heart friends out there!
First off, I decorated the Journaling Cards Box to hold the mini, using the coordinating Babycakes Stickease Assortment and Babycakes paper pack.
Next, go through your Picture my Life cards and pick out some that you want for your cover and back. You then glue them to the front and back of a piece of chipboard that is cut to the same size - 4 "x 6", (rounding the corners to match the Picture my Life cards).
Cut extra sheets of card stock in the same manner (using card stock from the paper pack), so that you will have extra pages to mount your photos on. Below I'm showing how the smaller cards can be used to mat your photos.
These are some of the fun cards, you can add here and there through-out the album.
Because the Journaling Cards Box that is used to hold the album, is so narrow, keep your embellishments "flat". I continued to use pieces from the Stickease collection.
Mix the Journaling Cards among your photos. They are so cute.
There's lots of cards for the mom to put notes on, such as "Baby's Nighttime Routine" and "Family Fun", so it makes a really nice keep sake. When I photographed my album, it came out looking pretty bright. The colours are actually softer, as in the image below.
I had intended to use binder rings to hold the album together, but they don't fit in the Journaling Cards Box, so I tied it together with twine instead. When you do this, make sure to tie it loosely so your pages will turn easily.
I was able to fit 39 pages into this mini- album, so there is room for a lot of photos.
so you could have a lot of fun with these mini albums!
Happy Holiday to all of you who are celebrating one today!
Here in Alberta, it is Family Day.... there's lots of fun activities going on .... Pancake Breakfast, Ice Skating, Ice Fishing, Children's Carnival... great events for families to share together!
Bye for now,
Linda
