Artbooking in August #3

Hi!  Welcome back to the Artbooking in 2013 Blog Hop!  Haven't the past couple of weeks been very inspiring!!  I sure have learned a lot from my fellow bloggers!

If you came from Jen Patrick’s blog, you are on the right track!

One of the things I was inspired to do this week, was to get a little more familiar with the Cricut Craft Room.  What a fabulous tool that is!  I was able to design my project for this week and size all my little embellishments to fit, so quickly and easily.  If you have a Cricut, I would encourage you to take the time to make yourself familiar with this software that can be downloaded for free at Cricut's website.

My project this week was inspired by a post made by a friend of mine, Dianne.  She made the sweetest little purses from paper bags and shared the link to the tutorial.  As much as I loved the purses, my mind went to Halloween treat bags right away.

Aren't they just adorable???

And look at all the room for candy!!!!  My grandchildren are going to be very happy with me this year!!  :)

If you are interested in a tutorial and a Cricut Craft Room file for this,
please go to the bottom of my post.

Ok it's time to head on over to Brenda Rose’s blog where you are going to be absolutely delighted by what you see!

Once again, if you should get lost along the way, click on this badge:

and you will be taken to a list of all those participating!

Tutorial:

Supplies required:
One small adhesive Velcro dot
One small paper lunch bag (5-1/4x 11”)

Cut the following by hand (the rest will be cut using the Cricut Craft Room file):

One black cardstock 4-1/4 x 5-1/2”
One black cardstock 5-1/2 x 6-1/4” – score this at 2”
One piece of cardstock 10 x ¾” for handle, or use lace, ribbon, etc.  (I used several lengths of Grey Wool twine, twisted together.)
One piece of patterned paper 4-1/4 x 5-1/4” (I used LaughingLola.)

Cut by Cricut Craft Room file that can be found hereLaughing Lola patterned paper, Goldrush cardstock, Whisper cardstock, Black cardstock.

Cut the paper bag at 4".

Glue black cardstock to paper bag.  Round the corners of the cardstock, if you wish.

Cut your cricut file pieces and embellish the purse.

I save everything and anything, LOL.  I made my twine handle, stapled it to the bag, tied these pieces on and glued the cat and the owl to them.  The Velcro is glued under the circular graveyard scene, to hold the bag closed.

Enjoy making your little treat bags!

Thank you for joining me once again for the Blog Hop!
The lovely comments everyone has been leaving have really made my day!!

See you next week when I will be completing the final requirement
of the blog hop - a mini album!

  6. Thanks for sharing the tutorial, and CCR file. I saw these before, but I would have had to pay for the cut file, so thanks for sharing it free.
